Simultaneous Small and Wide Angle X-ray scattering
Provided by Rigaku/Molecular Metrology, the setup uses a microsource generator with pinhole collimation and 2.1 m sample-detector (SAXS) distance. WAXS is recorded onto image plates, and SAXS on an electronic area (2D) wire detector. The system can resolve down to 0.065 nm^-1 or d~ 95 nm. The instrument supports automated temperature controlled solution and melt state scattering, and can house a CSS450 Linkam shear cell for characterization of mesostructures in structured systems under shear. The instrument is customized to permit inclusion of a high-field magnet just downstream of the normal sample position, as shown below.
