Prof. Marshall B. Long, Mechanical Engineering and Applied Physics, was elected Fellow of the Optical Society of America for "pioneering work in quantitative laser imaging techniques for studying reacting and nonreacting flows."

Prof. Long is the Director of the Center for Laser Diagnostics.
