National Cancer Institute has awarded a $1.4 million, four-year grant to Prof. John Gore, Applied Physics and Diagnostic Radiology, to continue his studies of nuclear magnetic resonance relaxation mechanisms in biological tissues. These studies aim at understanding better the factors that affect NMR relaxation rates in human tissues and determine the image contrast seen in MR images.
