Prof. Grober featured in
Golf Digest:
The June issue of Golf Digest features an article on
Prof. Robert Grober, AP, and "sonic golf," his invention
that registers the motion of the golf club as sound. The
April/May issue of the Yale Alumni Magazine (circulation
103,000) also features Prof. Grober’s invention. Prof. Grober
will give a talk about his research that was the basis for his
applications to golf clubs at the May 28 alumni reunion; his
talk at the June 3 Yale reunion will be on energy.
Outstanding paper wins
Ribbon Award:
The Materials Research Society chose "Growth, Characterization,
and Application of High Al-content AlGaN and High Power III-Nitride
Ultraviolet Emitters" to receive its Ribbon Award. The lead
author, Zaiyuan Ren,
is our
3rd year EE graduate student. His
adviser is Prof. Jung Han. Other Yale EE authors are S.-R.
Jeon,
