Environmental Science & Technology, the premier publication 
in its field, identified its 10 most cited papers for the past decade, 
according to a citation index. Among the 10 was “Mechanisms of 
Slow Sorption of Organic Chemicals to Natural Particles” written 
in 1996 by Joseph Pignatello and Baoshan Xing, Department of 
Soil and Water, The Connecticut Agricultural Station. 
Dr. Joseph Pignatello is an Adjunct Professor in our

Prof. Reed recipient of YSEA award: 
At the Yale Science and Engineering Association annual dinner 
April 17 in the Presidents Room, Woolsey Hall, Prof. Mark Reed, EE &
AP, 
received the YSEA 2002 Award for the Advancement of Basic and
Applied 
Science for his national and international prominence as "one of the 
pioneers in the entire field of Nanoelectronics." Jasmina Hasanhodzic
'02, 
an EE/Applied Math major, received the YSEA 2002 Highest 
Senior Scholastic Achievement Award. Prof. B.T. Chu, ChE, 
and Prof. Werner Wolf, AP & Phys, were honored with 
citations of appreciation upon retirement from distinguished 
teaching and research careers as Yale faculty members.
