negotiations continue:
- The
University and the Unions agreed, Jan. 18, to continue
- negotiations.
The contracts are extended until March 1 and
- will
be renewed automatically every month thereafter, unless
- either
party gives notice to the other fifteen days before the
- extension
expires. One of the points on which the University
- and
the Unions differ is the right of graduate students to unionize.

- Sandia
National Laboratories recruit from Jan.
28 to Feb. 1:
- Undergraduates
and graduate students can find out

summer internships, career opportunities, and whether
- they
qualify for a "One Year on Campus Program" or a
- "Doctoral
Study Program" that pays all tuition costs and
- provides
some compensation and benefits. Permanent
- employment
at Sandia is for U.S. citizens only, but post-docs
- are
available also to non-citizens. Undergraduates should
