Elected to Phi Beta Kappa: 
   Andrew Lin '03 has been elected to Phi Beta Kappa, joining 
   the company of some very famous people (Yale students Samuel F.
   B. Morse--elected in 1810, Eli Whitney--elected in 1792,
   www.pbk.org/about/Famous.htm). 
   Established in 1776 at the College of William and Mary, Phi Beta Kappa 
   is an honor society that recognizes and fosters excellence in liberal 
   learning at the undergraduate level. Yale's chapter dates from 1779. 
   Members now number 500,000 (women were admitted to membership

How to be admitted to graduate school: 
   Tau Beta Pi invites Seniors and Juniors to meet with Prof. Daniel 
    Prober, AP & Phys, who chairs our Graduate Admissions Committee, , AP & Phys, who chairs our Graduate Admissions Committee, 
   and Ms. Cara Gibilisco, our Graduate Registrar, to learn what 
   admissions committees look for and how to provide it. Prof. Prober 
   will discuss plusses and minuses of going for the Ph.D. vs the M.S. 
   You will also find out about helpful information on the web related

NSBEY on the move: 
   Five members of the National Society of Black Engineers at Yale 
   participated in the NSBE New England Zone Fall Conference 
   at Boston College, MA, Nov. 3. More than 80 college students, 
   alumni, and Pre-College Initiative students from the New 
   England states learned team-building and networking beyond 
   their own campus or community, received pointers on communication, 
   organizational, and professional skills, and were informed how 
   to get the most out of the college experience. 
 
YSEA undergraduate chapter invites to dinner: 
   The undergraduate chapter of YSEA has invited Prof. Mark 
   Reed, EE & AP, to enjoy an informal dinner with students 
   Nov. 6, 6:00 pm, Calhoun Fellows Lounge. Youjung Byon '03, 
   chapter Co-President, said that Prof. Reed teaches a popular 
   class on science fiction and science fact and students will be 
   able to discuss with him cutting-edge technological advances 
   that show up in everyone's everyday life. All welcome, but

IBM to recruit: 
   Mon., Nov. 5, right after the 5:00 pm talk by Dr. Fasano in 
   Mason 107, pizza and beverages will be served and Mr. James 
   Norum '87, IBM Microelectronics Division, will discuss opportunities 
   at IBM. 
 
Vaccinations to continue into December: 
   Starting Nov. 7, vaccinations against the flu will be available 
   8:30 am to 4:00 pm every Wednesday and Thursday of this month 
   (except Thanksgiving week) and also the first week of December. 
 
Engineering Library Instruction: 
   Receive an introduction to the major features of EndNote v. 5, 
   a software program for managing references and creating
