Kumpati Narendra, EE, has received $400,000 from NSF
- for
three years (until 2004) for research on "Identification and
- Control
of Dynamical Systems Using Neural Networks." Since 1992,
- Prof.
Narendra has received ~$1,800,00 from NSF for research
- on
the application of neural networks to pattern recognition,
- identification,
and control. Undergraduates who would like to
- participate
in neural networks research during the summer
- should
get in touch with Prof. Narendra without delay.

in pace:
- Mafalda
Stock, who had been the Administrative Associate
- in
Mechanical Engineering from 1985 to 1999, died suddenly
- on
October 15. The wake will be Sunday, October 21, 4:00 to 6:00 pm,
- at
the Clancy W.S. Branford Funeral Home, 504 Main Street, Branford,
- 488-3414.
The late Mafalda Stock is survived by a son, Adrian Stock.
