the public works sector thereby influencing the way
we do our jobs on a daily basis,” explained the
editor-in-chief of Public Works about their choice
of "Trendsetters"; they included Prof. Menachem
Elimelech, ChE/EnvE, on their list. Public Works
is a magazine for engineers and contractors who
design, construct, operate, maintain, and rehabilitate
public works and infrastructure projects and programs
in cities, counties, states, utilities, and special

Prof. Ma accepts Grove award:
Dec. 6, at the International Electron Devices
Meeting, IEDM, in Washington, DC, Prof. T.P. Ma, EE,
accepted from Dr. Cleon Anderson, President of IEEE,
a IEEE Andrew Grove Award for outstanding contributions
to solid-state devices and technology. The award
includes a bronze medal, a certificate, and an honorarium.

Ed Nicollian Award at the 36th IEEE Semiconductor
Interface Specialists Conference in Arlington, VA,
held Dec. 1-3, for her paper "Tunneling Spectroscopy

Dielectrics". Her Adviser was Prof. T.P. Ma.
