Tutor urgently needed:
If you can commit two hours per week to tutor an undergraduate
who is taking EE 226 "Introduction to Electrical Engineering:
Electronic Circuits and Devices," please contact Ms. Sally Hilger,
College Dean's Office, right away, 2-2914 or email. The assignment
pays $15 per hour both for the tutoring and for the preparation.

From our AIChE chapter:
Accompanied by Adviser Prof. Yehia Khalil, ChE, a group
of Engineering freshmen attended the Oct. 1 Regional AIChE
meeting in Boston. They had the pleasure of seeing Kristina Mois '08
receive the "AIChE Student of the Year Award" (a plaque and a
monetary award) for her excellent academic record and her
interest in the chemical engineering field (she was nominated
by Prof. Khalil). The students networked with industry
professionals and heard a panel presentation by representatives
from various corporations about careers in chemical engineering.
Contact Prof. Khalil, <yehia.khalil@yale.edu>, to learn about
    coming AIChE chapter activities.

Take part in the work of ESC:
Students are invited to the first fall meeting of the Engineering
Student Council, ESC, Sun. Oct. 10, 2:00 pm, Saybrook Athenaeum
Room (enter gate at High and Elm, room at left). Agenda:
Elections and brainstorming about how the Council could
enhance Engineering (Suggestions for Career Services?
    Mentoring? Organizing musical presentations/art shows
in the Engineering Student Center by Engineering students
and faculty? Proposing initiatives similar in importance to building
the Engineering Student Center?). You are also invited to just
come and meet interesting Engineering students. If you need
persuading, contact <gary.green@yale.edu> '06, ESC Chair.

SAE-sponsored Kart racing event:
The Yale Engineering Design Team, YEDT, is participating
in a Society of Automotive Engineers, SAE, -sponsored Kart
(between an Indy car and a souped-up go-kart) race Sunday
afternoon, Oct. 17, in Windsor Locks. YEDT students will
race against four-person teams from other engineering schools.
If you want to race or just to carpool and watch, contact James
Salzano '06 before noon Mon., Oct. 11. The cost is $20.
Prof. David LaVan is the Faculty Adviser. Also, visit
