Engineering alumnus receives Yale Medal

J. Robert Mann Jr. '51E, will receive the highest award for service to Yale at the assembly of AYA delegates Yale Medal Dinner in Commons on April 26.

Mr. Mann has worked with the engineering faculty to develop new courses, research opportunities, and laboratory facilities for undergraduates in systems design and microelectronics. His gifts established the J. Robert Mann Jr. Microelectronics Teaching Laboratory and the J. Robert Mann Jr. Electronic Design and Fabrication Lab, both in Becton Center.

Mr. Mann has also been a visiting lecturer in electrical engineering at the Yale School of Architecture, has served as president of the Yale Science and Engineering Association, has served on the Yale Alumni Board, the Federation of Yale Alumni Organizations and on the AYA Board of Governors and was a member of the Class of '51 Executive Committee.
