The 28th International Symposium on Compound Semiconductors 2001, held October 1-4 at the University of Tokyo, honored Prof. Mark A. Reed, EE & AP, Prof. Leo P. Kouwenhoven of Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, and Prof. Seigo Tarucha of the University of Tokyo with the ISCS-2001 Quantum Devices Award for "pioneering contributions to electronic transport and spectroscopy of quantum dots." Prof. Reed, who also gave a paper at the Symposium, accepted the award on the first day of the event.
