Revolutionary technology licensed 

Prof. Mark Reed, EE and AP, and Dr. James Klemic, Postdoctoral 
Associate in EE and AP, are two of the four Yale inventors of 
revolutionary technology that will be useful in screening new drugs 
for the treatment of many diseases, including auto-immune diseases, 
hypertension, migraine, epilepsy, irregular heartbeat, diabetes, muscle 
diseases, chronic pain, and cystic fibrosis. The new technology allows 
high throughput testing of drugs that act on cell-membrane ion 
channels and transporters and will accelerate significantly the 
new drug discovery process. The technology was licensed by Axon 
Instruments, Inc., which will fund the further development of
