Conference Hall

Talks will be held in Davies Auditorium in the basement of Yale University’s Becton Center, 15 Prospect Street, New Haven, CT 06511 (see the maps for the exact location). For easiest access, follow the signs around the building to the lower courtyard located between Becton Center and the rear building (Dunham Laboratory, 10 Hillhouse Avenue). There, you will find the main entrance to the conference area, which is indicated by the red arrow in the satellite picture. For the auditorium, please turn left after entering the doors. In contrast, turning right twice will lead you to the J. Robert Mann Jr. Engineering Student Center, where coffee breaks and parts of the exhibition are taking place. Poster sessions and luncheons will be held in Commons Hall at the corner of Grove and College Streets (the building with the dome opposite Becton Center). Please keep in mind that smoking is not allowed in any Yale University building, including Davies Auditorium, the Mann Student Center, and Commons Hall.

Registration

The registration desk in the foyer of Davies Auditorium (see above) will be staffed 07:45-18:00 (Monday), 08:00-12:00 (Tuesday), and 08:30-09:00 (Wednesday through Friday).

Welcome Party

We invite all conference participants to a casual welcome party with reception and dinner (barbeque) on Monday, August 10, 2009, between 18:30 and 20:30. If the weather is nice, the event will take place outside in the courtyard of Yale's Sterling Law School. Please take the entrance to the main Law School building indicated by the arrow in the satellite picture. Walk down the hallway until stairs are on your left. Follow the steps down, and the entrance to the courtyard is straight ahead. If it is raining, we will move the event to Commons Hall (same location as luncheons).

Conference Banquet

Conference banquet will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 12th, 2009, 18:30-22:00 at Sterling Memorial Library (SML) on Yale campus. Please see the maps page for the location of SML. Note that this event had to be moved from its original slot on Thursday to the new Wednesday slot due to scheduling issues at the SML.

Internet Access

Wireless internet access will be available in Davies Auditorium and the exhibition areas. Detailed instructions for connecting to the internet will be distributed with your conference material. Also, a number of desktop computers will be available in the exhibition area and a nearby computer cluster room. A guest login ID and a personal password, which allows you to connect to the internet from these computers, will be handed to each participant at the registration desk.
