Project Management: Be Proactive, not Reactive!
• Write out your planned schedule to the end of the course on a Gantt Chart like the one showed below (it helps to turn the page sideways). Include details of part by part fabrication. A working machine should be completed by the Preliminary Design review (PDR), on April 5&6. Make sure to leave a week for redesign and a week for testing after the PDR. Keep a copy of the Gantt for yourself and update as progress is made.
• Make a more detailed Gantt chart for just the next two weeks . Put time estimates in hours for each task. Throughout the week, add actual time spent for each task.
