Summer Internships for High School Students and Undergraduates
Undergraduate Senior Thesis Work
Graduate Research Assistantships
Every year, we are interested in seeking new graduate students who are highly motivated, bright, and with strong backgrounds. If you are such a candidate for graduate school and are genuinely interested in our research, then ask yourself whether you would be interested in graduate work at Yale University. We are interested in new students from all varieties of backgrounds: Aero/Astro, Biomedical, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Physics or Biochemistry. Working at the Koser Lab means getting involved at the cutting-edge of interdisciplinary research, and the students are expected to work hard (and smart) towards expanding their horizons and skill sets to be competitive in today's truly interdisciplinary scientific arena.
Naturally, not everything that we work on will be immediately available here. However, as the information on this web site and the list of our publications get updated, they should give graduate school candidates a sufficient idea about our research efforts. We kindly ask that you do not to contact Prof. Koser about Engineering Department application details; those can be found at the Yale Engineering web site. Prof. Koser does not make the ultimate acceptance decisions (there is an official committee for that). You do not even have to email to let us know that you have applied. If you are actually sincere about your interest in working at the Koser Lab, then simply state that intention in your application. You may list Prof. Koser as a likely "contact person" in the application form, and include in your personal statement a brief paragraph as to why you would like to work at the Koser Lab.
Direct emails from candidates prior to acceptance decisions will be interpreted as random spam, and will most likely be ignored as such. After all, if you are truly interested in working with us, then we expect that you will spend some time on this web site, read this message and act accordingly. :-)
