Elizabeth Denhup is a current student at Joseph A. Foran High School. This summer she will be conducting research in the Koser Lab on ferrofluids. Elizabeth is especially interested in the "lab-on-a-chip" application of ferrofluid – such pathogen detector strips use miniscule amounts of ferrofluid that are functionalized (coated with chemicals for a specific function) to attract a specific type of pathogen. Elizabeth will be working on presenting her research in a way that is accessible to other high school students.
