Kelly was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1984.  She is currently in her fourth and final year of study at Yale University where she expects to receive her B.S. degree in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering in May.  During her undergraduate years, she has been involved in research projects in several laboratories on campus and worked on projects dealing with tissue engineering, drug delivery and the biomechanics of the spine.
