General Computer Facilities

Two public computer labs exist on the first floor of Dunham Laboratory, 10 Hillhouse Avenue. Note that these rooms have been reorganized during the Summer of 2004.

Circus. The "Circus" (Rm 107, Engineering Student Center -- South) is the main Engineering-oriented computer area.  This room contains a number of Jove Linux workstations and Windows XP PCs.  The room is open to the Engineering community on a 24 hour basis.  (Yale ID required at all times)

Garage.  The "Garage" (Rm 120, Dunham Computer Lab -- North) has 3 components: an 18-PC computer classroom, a Macintosh room, and a Windows cluster.  This room is open to the Yale community on a 24 hour basis. (Yale ID required for entry after hours.)

Both the Circus and Garage are operated by Yale Information Technology Services (Academic Media & Technology) in cooperation with Engineering's Information Technology group.

Note:  Any of the Engineering servers (Entity, Jove, etc.) may be rebooted without warning "first thing" any workday morning.  Sometimes this is necessary to install security updates, etc. Usually, there will be no user impact.
