1921

Exhibitions held by Engineering departments for the general public first organized. These programs soon became an annual event with significant undergraduate involvement. The demonstrations staged in the large bays in Mason and Dunham laboratories held great attraction for many townspeople.

1923

Harry Alfred Curtis (1884-1963) appointed the first Professor of Chemical Engineering, noted for his work on Nitrogen fixation and Coal Carbonization. He was awarded an honorary degree by the University of Colorado in 1928.

1926

Department of Chemical Engineering formed.

1927

The Yale Scientific Magazine, an undergraduate publication was founded with support from the Yale Engineering Association. This magazine replaced the Yale Sheffield Monthly founded in 1894.

1929

Professor Scott awarded the Thomas A. Edison medal by the AIEE. In 1930 he received the Lamme Medal of the Society for the Promotion of Engineering Education, as well as honorary degrees from The University of Pittsburgh and Stevens Institute of Technology.
