Title: Statistical Mechanics and Thermodynamics of Optimal Estimation
Abstract: I will give an overview of recent work on estimation theory at Los Alamos. In particular, I will discuss a variational methods, a closure scheme, a mean-field approximation, and a path integral Monte Carlo approach to optimal and suboptimal estimation. Results for several problems will be given.
