Primary appointment in the Department of Physics
INTERESTS
Professor Harris studies the mechanical properties of light. He is particularly interested in exploring the quantum aspects of the forces exerted by light on micromechanical mirrors. These unusual forces offer powerful new means for manipulating both microstructures and light.
