Sima Receives NSF Graduate Research Fellowship:
Laura Sima, a first-year graduate student in Environmental Engineering, is the recipient of an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. The competitive award provides three years of funding support and is considered one of the most prestigious acknowledgements for graduate students. The award aims to recognize students who are crucial to maintaining and advancing the nation's technological infrastructure and national security as well as contributing to the economic well-being of society at large.
Science Saturdays Return this Weekend:
Science Saturdays, a special series that brings the excitement of research and the passion of scientists to “kids of all ages” in New Haven, begins tomorrow, April 5, and will continue on Saturdays through April 26.
The talks and demonstrations are aimed at youngsters in middle school and above, and are free and open to all interested members of the public, regardless of their age. The programs run from 10:30 a.m. to noon in Davies Auditorium of Becton Center, 15 Prospect Street.
